AP Cybersecurity
AP Cybersecurity trains students in the field and aligns closely with standard first-year collegiate cybersecurity courses. Students explore defense-in-depth strategies and learn to address specific vulnerabilities, attacks, mitigations, and detection measures across a variety of domains, including physical spaces, computer networks, devices, applications, and data. Developed in partnership with college faculty and industry leaders, this yearlong course aligns with the NICE Workforce Framework.

About the instructor

William A Lawrence
Full Stack Web Dev, Cybersecurity/3D Modeling/Chemistry/Coding Instructure
Will Lawrence is a STEM educator and full stack developer with a background that blends chemistry, cybersecurity, and hands-on engineering. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and has spent years in the classroom teaching high school students subjects ranging from web development and robotics to 3D modeling and cybersecurity. In his classes, students don’t just learn concepts, they build real projects. From designing mechanical systems in Fusion 360 to creating browser-based games with JavaScript, Will focuses on turning ideas into tangible results. His teaching style connects theory to application, helping students understand not just how something works, but why it matters. Outside the classroom, Will develops full stack web applications using modern technologies like React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. He has also worked extensively with Arduino and embedded systems, bringing software and hardware together in practical, real-world builds. This course reflects that same philosophy: learn by doing, build with purpose, and walk away with skills you can actually use.
